Educational Programs
- Beginning 2018-19, all classes will be a multi-age model class. This model allows for a true inquiry and project-based model and support the development of each child. Multi-age is different from mixed-grade classes. The classes are as follows: ECE 3/4, K/1st, 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th. This model allows for teachers to spend two years with their students which enables strong relationships and deeper learning. It also allows for stability of staff in a small school environment as well as more individualized instruction.
Our Programming Includes:
- 3 Hour Literacy Block-including a 1 hour fluid skills block for each child’s individual reading needs including Benchmark Advanced and Adelante for core literacy instruction and Accelerated Reader for independent reading practice and support
- 45 minutes of World Language. Every child gets a second language (English or Spanish)
- Project-based learning in Literacy, Science and Social Science
- Amplify Science 60 minutes weekly
- 75 minutes of Inquiry-Based Math using IM and Zearn
- 135 minutes of Campos EPC Smart Lab weekly
- Physical Education/Movement/Dance
- Music/Drama/Theatre
- Art
- Library Media Center
- Technology Lab including 1:1 Chromebooks for all K-5 students
- Specialized Services – Speech Therapy, Mild/Moderate Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychologist/Counseling, Nurse
- Gifted and Talented Program-individualized support, clustered classrooms and classroom “push in” support to meet individual student needs
