Classroom Placement and Looping
We strive to ensure that all students are placed in the classroom that will best meet their individual needs. We use the following factors when determining classroom placement:
- Grade level teachers and administrators will complete classroom assignments together making sure that placement considers the needs of individual students and the needs of the entire grade level. A student’s individual learning styles, academic achievement levels, academic needs, #s by gender, social, emotional and behavioral needs of students as well as teacher recommendations with our HGT/GT specialist and/or Mild Moderate Team.
- We also consider class sizes across the grade level
- As a multiage building, we aim to have students loop with their teachers and instructional teams for two years (ie. Kindergarten and First)
