Cell Phones and Personal Devices:
NEW STUDENT CELL PHONE AND PERSONAL DEVICE POLICY (per DPS Board Policy JICJ): Cell phones, smart watches and other personal devices are no longer permitted to be on campus. Students using their phone/watch/ device at school will be asked to turn it off and put it away. If the student continues using their phone, the phone/device is held by the teacher until the end of the day. A third occurrence will result in the phone being held by the principal for parental pick-up and a parent conference will occur. Repeated offenses are subject to disciplinary action.
If a cell phone, smart watch or personal device is brought to school, it is the sole responsibility of the student. Please understand that the school does not take responsibility for any broken or stolen phones should your child bring one on campus.
If your child needs to have a phone, or device, at school for before or after bell hours, they may bring it to the Main Office to hold for the day, or keep it in their backpack. All classrooms have phones if your child needs to call home during the day. If you need to reach your child during the day, you can call the Main Office at 720-424-9470.
